Classification of transistor:

  1. NPN Transistor

  2. PNP Transistor

1.In NPN Transistor connection the electrons flows from base to emitter. So you we see a arrow out.

2.In PNP Transistor connection the current flows to emitter. So you we see arrow inward.

BJT transistor is a current controlled device where as FET is a voltage controlled device.

In BJT a small amount of current flowing between base and collector control a large amount of current between base and emitter

BJT have three terminals : Base, collector and emitter.

FET have three terminals : Gate , Drain and source.

In FET the voltage applied at gate terminal control current flowing between source and drain.
