ROUTING

26/07/2021

ROUTING

In electronic design, wire routing, commonly called simply routing, is a step in the design of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and integrated circuits (ICs). It builds on a preceding step, called placement, which determines the location of each active element of an IC or component on a PCB.

Routing is a most important part of PCB designing process. One can simply say routing is just to create a path for current for a particular components. Routing is the most fun part of this entire process. It’s like solving a puzzle! Our job will be turning each of those gold airwires into top or bottom copper traces. At the same time, you also have to make sure not to overlap two different signals.

Routing can be of two type in eagle.

1 AUTO ROUTING

2 MANUAL ROUTING

We will look into these in next topics
