A switch is a device which interrupts the flow of current in circuit. It makes or breaks a connection in circuit.
Let see the working of switch via a circuit example.
As we know the basic circuit contains a load, source, switch and some connecting wires.As shown in the above circuit.
When the switch is plugged in the circuit or the switch is ON then the current start flowing in the circuit.This flowing of current is called electricity. The current flows from source to load and then back to the source.
When the switch is plugged out from the circuit or the switch is OFF as you can see in the above then there is no flow of current.
These switches are used to prevent the circuit from electrical damages which occur when the current flows from the load for a long duration.
